⬜ Original and a photocopy of Letter of Admission (for the Office of International and Cross-Strait Affairs) (Present your passport and the letter to an onsite mobile phone service counter at Taoyuan International Airport to purchase a pre-paid SIM card for a student plan.)
⬜ One passport-size photo as well as an electronic file (size: horizontal 3.5cm, straight 4.5cm, length from top to chin 3.2 ~ 3.5cm with white background) (for the Office of International and Cross-Strait Affairs)

⬜ Original Police Clearance Certificate (only for Hong Kong and Macao students) (for the Office of International and Cross-Strait Affairs)
⬜Original of admission statement and reply form (for the Office of Academic Affairs)

⬜Proof of Financial support or statement that proves applicants’ financial capability to study in Taiwan (ready for the Office of Academic Affairs)
⬜Certificate of Chinese proficiency test (Applicants from non-Chinese speaking countries have to submit a certificate of Chinese ability to the Office of Academic Affairs. Otherwise, they should take a placement test in language center.)

Identity cards by nationalities
⬜National identity card of your country with 3 photocopies (for International students)
⬜Original of Hong Kong or Macao identity card with 3 photocopies (for Hong Kong and Macao students)
⬜Passport of country of residence, the ROC passport with endorsement of Overseas Chinese Status, or the permanent resident identity card with 3 photocopies (for Overseas Chinese students)
⬜Resident identity card with 3 photocopies (for Mainland China students)

⬜ Diploma and official transcript (The originals will be returned after the registration)
⬜Student enrolment form and consent for processing personal data (completed at the Office of Academic Affairs)

Money Matters

⬜Cash, Traveler’s Cheque, or ATM cards for overseas transactions and withdrawals (ATMs are available at convenience stores nearby.)
(For the first semester, the total cost of living is around NT$110, 000, including tuition and miscellaneous fees, accommodation, uniforms, books, insurance, and daily expenses.)

Notes

  1. There are lots of convinces shop in Taiwan, so you can buy daily supplies after your arrival.
  2. It is hot and humid in summers. But heavy coats and sweaters are needed when the temperature may come down to 10 degrees in winters in Hualien.
  3. Alternating current with a voltage of 110 volts and two parallel jacks is used in Taiwan.
